Travel, eh? Let's see ...

Sienna, plus any of the other walled cities in Tuscany would be good. Trains & buses to get around. Would also allow Pisa. Keeps you in-country for your return flights.

Pompei & Sorrento & Capri would be a hoot, provide great contrasts. Most excellent electric tram/train ride from Pompei to central Sorrento. Naples is a good transportation hub, but a bit of a rough town - especially by the industrial waterfront if you take the water taxi there from Capri. Do see the Blue Grotto if you go to the island; we missed it. The ride on the funiculare from the harbor to the center of town once on the island is also a hoot. Capri is very pricey; don't plan on staying overnight there ...

Seville would be fun primarily if Carman or the rest of your 'other family' would be available.

From Northern Italy, a train ride into Switzerland is very easy. Gorgeous country. The cool mountains might be a good thermal break ...

Maybe the Italian Riviera, and over towards Monaco.

Returned midnite last night from Indy/USGP. Good wknd. Dumb race: 8 cars taken out on Turn 1, Lap 1, right in front of us. Early fingerpointing at Juan Pable Montoya nerfing his teammate in traffic and starting the maylay that eliminated the Mercedes & BMW teams, among others. Ferrari dominated the entire weekend - again.

Advise your travel intentions. Can research possibilities for you if you wish...
